Getting to Walt Disney World PDF Print E-mail

planeGetting to Walt Disney World can be the most expensive part of your trip. The 2 most popular options are to drive and or fly. Flying can be costly, but driving is not as cheap as you might think but it's quite doable from Ontario.

With the cost of fuel and cost of hotels on the way down this will not cost you as much as flying! You need to do the math as to costs of things (ragged nerves included), you are looking at just over to 4000 kms of gas (20Hrs 30Min) plus food and accommodation.

One of the advantages to driving is you will have a car that you can use to drive to the parks (Except Magic Kingdom which you should use Disney Transport as it gets you closer to the enterance and the parking lot drops you at the Ticket and Transportation Centre - TTC)

Flying can be reasonable if you are willing to put a little time and/or effort into the planning. Airline prices can change significantly. Some incredible deals can be found by frequently checking the airline websites. If you find a deal be ready to book it as it may not be there long. Note: It’s usually cheaper to fly in the middle of the week.

Some of the Airlines that fly out of Canada and go to Orlando are:

  • Air Canada
  • WestJet
  • Sunwing

As an alternative you could fly from the USA. Cities like Buffalo, Detroit, Albany, Manchester or Seattle. These airport ususally have much better rates to Orlando then Canadian Airports. Some airlines that fly to Orlando are:

  • Southwest
  • JetBlue
  • Alaska
  • Delta
  • AirTran
  • Northwest
